Early Care and Education Hackathon

Bright BeginningsUncategorized

Join us Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm for a community problem-solving hackathon with a focus on child care availability in Seaside and Marina with Keynote Speaker Deneen Guss, Superintendent of Schools in Monterey County.

Monterey County residents struggle to find quality and affordable child care for their children. There are 9,345 licensed spaces for 38,802 children 0-5 in Monterey County. Families spend 27% of their incomes on child care and only 25% of children are ready for kindergarten.

Employers, child care providers, parents, policy makers, developers, educators, and funders are all invited to join us!
