Last month, Bright Beginnings’ own Sonja Koehler and initiative partner Laurie Ramirez of the Child Care Planning Council were interviewed by KION about the shortage of child care in Monterey County, and how new health guidelines for reduced capacity are forcing child care centers to turn families away. “We’re hearing from families from the whole spectrum of situations. They need more support to give early learning and care opportunities to their children,” shared Sonja. “We are working as quickly as we can to find solutions.
