Based on the results from our latest evaluation work, policy change is important for advocates and believers in early childhood development. People want to know how to get involved in systems change, specifically in their community and county-wide. Bright Beginnings has been working to build out the Policy Advocacy Network and through our work several issues have become priorities to address. At the next Policy Advocacy Network meeting on Friday, August 26 from 1:00 – 3:00PM we will discuss the following topics:
- Developing a county-wide policy road-map for early childhood development
- Developing a Children’s Fund – potential sources of funding for children’s programs
- Developing a Children and Youth’s Bill of Rights
- Expanding LCAPs to further enhance early childhood development
- What else should we focus on as a county?
