Fall and winter are times in which we come together to reflect and to celebrate. A few months ago, we gathered in Greenfield with 100 informal child caregivers to share a meal and learn new, creative ways to engage with young children. Thank you United Way Monterey County, Door to Hope, Go Kids Inc., and First 5 Monterey County for the beautiful dinner and learning opportunities, supported by a collaborative grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. There is also much to celebrate in the broad, steadfast coalition that supported Measure Q for safe, affordable, quality child care. Even though the measure did not pass, we will continue to work together to support the expansion of child care in Monterey County.
