Local programs and resources available

COVID-19 has impacted families and individuals across our community. There are resources available, including housing and utilities assistance, healthcare, food programs, and more. The County of Monterey shares local programs and contact information in a comprehensive English and Spanish flyer. Please feel free to download and share with others in your community.

COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program

Now offered by FEMA

Beginning this month, Monterey County residents can apply for financial help for funeral expenses through FEMA’s COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program. In addition, the County will help those who are applying with resources and support through the process. Families who have lost a loved one to COVID-19 can begin the assistance process by finding out if they are eligible. Visit the FEMA website for the most up-to-date information. Download and share the English and Spanish flyers with others in your community.

The PPP Extension Act of 2021 gives eligible organizations until May 31, 2021 to apply for their first PPP loan or Second Draw loan, an extension from the original deadline in March. It is unclear how long funds will last, so organizations are encouraged to get their applications submitted to their lender as soon as possible.
