Coming Together in New Ways

Bright BeginningsAdvocacy, Community

For many, this is a time when doing all we can to support our community means staying home and keeping our distance. For others — the essential workers that are taking care of our holistic needs like early childhood educators, health care workers, and those out in the fields harvesting food for the world — a new kind of courage and support is required.

The partners of the Bright Beginnings Early Childhood Development Initiative rapidly pulled together to respond to the immediate health and safety needs of early childhood educators and caregivers, and to ensure that all essential workers have access to the child care and educational opportunities they need in order to take care of us.

The Monterey County Child Care website is evolving to be a central point of information for child care and education during the pandemic. It is also the place to go to find up-to-date information on available child care. Click here or call the Resource & Referral line at: (831) 757-0775 (available 24/7 in Spanish and English).

As mandates change rapidly and new resources are made available for families, care providers, and educators, we are launching a weekly digest to keep you informed. Whoever we are and however we contribute, we are still working to ensure all children and their families have what they need to stay healthy and to thrive, even in these new times.
