Bright Beginnings Fall Leadership Convening – September 9th

Bright BeginningsEvents

You are invited to the Fall gathering of Bright Beginnings leadership across Monterey County on Friday, September 9, 2016.

Last February was the first time that Bright Beginnings leadership met to share strengths and challenges. Based on our final evaluation, many of you said that you are looking for additional capacity building support, peer-to-peer learning and communication tools.

The Convening will cover:

  • Overview of Bright Beginnings and Bright Futures – Cradle to Career alignment and what it means for communities;
  • Opportunities to learn from other Collaborative Action Teams through peer-to-peer support; and
  • Tools to help support your plans and activities.

Bright Beginnings staff has been working hard to make sure we can boost your capacity towards improving the life of children and family in Monterey County. This is an exciting opportunity to learn what is happening in Collaborative Action Teams, share what has been successful strategies for groups and voice what else is needed to keep the good work going.

Looking for Peer Assist Volunteers on September 9th

We are conducting “Peer Assist Workshops” on September 9th. This is a structured process designed to help leaders problem solve, and assist with, a particular challenge being faced by a colleague. Do you have a topic for which you would like to receive your colleagues’ advice? If so, please email Nina Alcaraz by close of business Thursday (September 8th), if you would like to receive feedback from your colleagues. The topic can be on something general (e.g., how do we maintain momentum in our communities) or specific (e.g., we have one organization in the community that would be a key partner but we can’t get them to the table – please help!).
